I came across this recipe on Kraft Foods for an easy version of lasagna. It's been sitting on my pinterest board for a very long time. I'll admit I was a little worried about the Zesty Italian Dressing but you really couldn't taste it. Or at least no one in my family noticed it. :) This was really easy to make and we all enjoyed it. It did take longer to cook though than the recipe said, and I had to add about an extra cup or so of water too. We would definitely eat this again. The only thing I would do next time is to break the noodles into smaller pieces. They were a bit large. I had to cut them for the girls too. Other than that, we really enjoyed this recipe (even Chloe who is my non-lasagna eating child!).
1lb. lean ground beef
1 jar (24 oz.) spaghetti sauce
1-2/3 cups water
1/4 cup Zesty Italian Dressing
2 green peppers, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
12 oven-ready lasagna noodle, broken into quarters
1 cup Shredded Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese
1/4 c ricotta cheese (see "special extra" note at bottom)
Brown meat in large saucepan; drain. Add next 5 ingredients; mix well. Bring to boil. Stir in noodles; cover. Cook on medium-low heat 10 to 15 min. or until noodles are tender, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Sprinkle with cheese; cover. Let stand 5 min. or until cheese is melted.
Special Extra
Stir 1/2 cup Ricotta Cheese into noodle mixture before sprinkling with shredded cheese.
